Hand tied flies

The Blue Polar Tube is one of those patterns you just know will catch fish.  Its got the wiggle, its got the right size, its got flash, its got everything most steelhead are looking for.  The UV chenille adds just enough to pop to fish it in bright sun, and makes the overall darker coloration pop in low light.

I fish this fly any time of the year for steelhead, from the top to bottom of any system, and top to bottom of the water column.  It works well for Chinook further up the river, and in cleaner water.

This the original from Georgie's Polychromer series. This entire Chinook fly is tied in UV materials.  Its got a flowing Marble Fox tail, a glowing Polar Chenille underbody,  bright Marabou, Amherst accents, and contrasting dark UV Schlappen with just enough flash to make it noticeable if it wasn't hot enough already.  Add in long and leggy hackles with jungle cock eyes and you have a perfect piece of predacious snack food.

Here's another from the Chris George Polychromer series, a Chinook Willie Gunn.

Here's a classic colour combo from across the Atlantic.  It's a great adaptation for Chinook salmon.  The tail is Marble fox, dyed sunburst orange, Fluorescent flame UV Red marabou with UV Black covering.  Add a little UV Amherst, long flowing hackle tips, and loads of flash for a fly that's pretty hard to resist.

Rabbit and marabou is a classic combination of materials, together providing maximum mobility and wiggly bits.  Everything is tied sandwiched tight between a brass bead underbody and cone head.  Working in conjunction to maintain a larger profile in swift currents, this technique also allows these flies to be tied sparse, facilitating effortless casting, and a quick sink rate.

Hoodies

Our addiction to hoodies started when we were rowing drift boats with anglers slinging heavily weighted bugs within inches of our ears.  The hood was as important to us as a hemet for a football player with 10 concussions.  Now, like most anglers, we just don't feel comfortable without a hoody on.  Our hoodies will keep you warm and looking good, and best of all part of the proceeds go to protect wild steelhead.

Shirts

Yes, your basic T is a collarless short-sleeved or sleeveless undershirt, and our Epic Tees are all of that more. Why do you ask? because part of the proceeds of every Tee we sell goes to help protect wild steelhead.
