Deirdre Green

Deirdre Green

Deirdre Green lives in Nova Scotia. She and her Fiancé, Derek Whiteway, are avid anglers and can most often be found on the rivers in their home province, pursuing native Brook Trout and Atlantic Salmon. They are passionate about our catch and release fishery and protecting surrounding watersheds. Deirdre first began fly fishing and tying in 2015 and has made strong relationships within the angling community since. She actively encourages other would-be anglers, specifically females and youth, to give the sport a try and be patient with themselves and the learning curve. In the off-season, her love affair with fly fishing spills over into her other hobbies. Whether it be writing, fly tying, painting or another art project; Deirdre draws inspiration from the wealth of time she spends on the river. Her passion for fishing and angling community is apparent as she volunteers regularly and eagerly seek out opportunities to share this exciting lifestyle with others.
